Day 1: Casablanca -> Rabat -> Chefchaouen
Your tour begins with a warm welcome at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel. We drive to the Hassan II Mosque, then to the imperial city of Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to explore the Hassan Tower and the beautiful Kasbah of the Udayas.
After lunch in Rabat, we continue to Chefchaouen, a breathtaking town in the scenic Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. On arrival, you’re welcomed at your hotel/riad to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
Day 2: Chefchaouen -> Fes
Start with breakfast, then explore Chefchaouen, the “Blue City,” with its streets painted in vibrant blue. Wander the narrow streets and alleys of the Medina, immersing yourself in the culture and busy markets. Relax at a cosy café or authentic restaurant with Moroccan cuisine — fragrant tagines and delightful pastries — enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and friendly hospitality.
After lunch amid the blue splendour, we take a scenic drive to Fes, a city known for its history and architecture. As the day ends, you’ll be in the heart of Fes’s old town, where a beautiful riad awaits for a restful night.
Day 3: Guided tour of Fes
Today, a full-day tour with a local guide explores Fes, one of Morocco’s most important cities and its cultural and religious centre.
Begin at the golden gate to the Royal Palace, then lose yourself in the narrow streets of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries, with their amazing architecture and intricate detail.
Next, visit the Jewish quarter (the Mellah) to learn about the history of the Jewish community in Fes. Finally, head to an old fortress for a panoramic view of the Medina and the city. At the end of the day, return to your riad.
Day 4: Fes -> Ifrane -> Middle Atlas Mountains -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert
After breakfast at your riad, prepare for a desert adventure heading south towards Merzouga. We make a brief stop in the picturesque city of Ifrane, then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and visit a cedar forest to see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Lunch is at a restaurant along the way.
We drive along the enchanting Ziz Valley, known for its palm oasis. Take a moment to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere before continuing towards the desert.
We reach the desert in the afternoon, the start of your camel ride through the mesmerising dunes of Erg Chebbi. We pause at a high dune to enjoy a breathtaking sunset, with the sky in vivid colours and the desert bathed in golden light.
Continuing on, we reach a luxury camp, where you’re shown to your private tent with a private bathroom to relax and freshen up. In the evening, a delicious dinner offers a taste of local cuisine. Gather around a cosy bonfire under the stars, where the camp staff entertain you with drumming and traditional Berber music — and you can even learn to play the drums yourself.
Day 5: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Gorge
We highly recommend waking early to watch a bright sunrise over the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga town by camel or comfortable 4×4, then head towards the magnificent Dades Gorge.
Along the way, we explore places like the traditional market in Rissani (open on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), with its vibrant atmosphere and unique local products.
Enjoy a stroll through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs, admiring the views of the meandering Todra River.
Heading towards the Dades Gorge, be astonished by the rock formations known as the “monkey fingers.” Enjoy a picturesque drive along the stunning Dades Valley with panoramic views before arriving at your charming hotel for the night.
Day 6: Dades Gorge -> Ouarzazate -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech
On the final leg, we drive to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can optionally explore the Atlas Studios, Morocco’s largest film studio, walking through famous film sets.
We then head to Ait Ben Haddou to explore the Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and the series Game of Thrones. Take your time to admire the beautiful structures and detailed architecture.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we travel through the High Atlas Mountains with stops for breathtaking panoramic views, reaching Marrakech in the late afternoon to conclude your Morocco itinerary 6 days.
