Day 1: Fes -> Ifrane -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert
We pick you up from your hotel or riad in Fes to begin the adventure. As we head towards the desert, we make several stops, including the charming town of Ifrane, the serene cedar forest near Azrou (where Barbary macaques may be seen), and the picturesque Ziz Valley.
Arriving in the Merzouga desert in the afternoon, enjoy an authentic camel ride across the dunes, ending with a breathtaking sunset from a high dune. Day 2: Merzouga desert discovery
Today begins with a chance to watch a breathtaking sunrise for early risers. After a delicious breakfast, prepare for an adventurous day in the Merzouga desert.
Begin with a visit to Khamlia, a village famous for its Gnawa music. Next, venture off-road to M’Fis, an abandoned village known for its galena mines, a mineral used in cosmetics.
Delve into the nomadic lifestyle by visiting a family living near the Erg Chebbi dunes, experiencing traditional Berber hospitality and insights into their way of life.
After a satisfying lunch, we head to a charming riad with picturesque views of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Unwind or enjoy a swim before the sunset, then take a leisurely stroll to the dunes to witness another captivating sunset. You can also choose to extend your stay at the camp for another night — just tell us at booking.
Day 3: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Valley
After a tasty breakfast at your riad, we set off for the Dades Valley, stopping at captivating places such as Rissani, the Tinghir oasis, the Todra Canyon, and the Todra Gorge. If it’s market day in Rissani (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you can immerse yourself in a traditional Moroccan market with local crafts, spices, and street food. There are plenty of stops for photos and to learn about local traditions. At the Todra Canyon, take a leisurely stroll to admire the breathtaking cliffs.
Later, we arrive at the Dades Valley, where you check into your hotel for the night. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable stay.
Day 4: Dades Valley -> Bou Tharar -> Kelaat M’Gouna -> Skoura -> Ouarzazate
Start with breakfast, then consider a leisurely stroll in the Dades Valley or a guided hike through the Monkey Fingers Canyon, marvelling at the rock formations and views.
Leaving the Dades Valley, we take an adventurous off-road route to Kelaat M’Gouna, with stops as desired, including a visit to a nomadic Berber family living in a mountain cave near Bou Tharar, where you can experience their way of life and enjoy a cup of tea.
Next, we head to Kelaat M’Gouna, famous for its Rose Valley. In spring, you can stroll through the valley among the blooming roses.
Continuing on, we reach Skoura, a breathtaking oasis of vast palm groves that was once a vital caravan stop between the Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan Africa. Explore the historic Amridil Kasbah, offering insights into life over 300 years ago.
After the Kasbah, we transfer you to your hotel in Ouarzazate for a relaxing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Ouarzazate -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Telouet Kasbah -> Marrakech
