Day 1: Fes -> Ifrane -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert
Your tour begins after breakfast at your hotel or riad. From there we journey towards the desert, pausing first in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco.”
Continuing on, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, pausing in the cedar forests to observe the Barbary macaques, a unique primate species native to the region.
Lunch is at a restaurant along the route, giving you flexibility to dine when you prefer. As we near Merzouga, a picturesque panorama of the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees, awaits.
We reach Merzouga in the late afternoon, marking the start of an enchanting camel trek. Each traveller rides a camel towards a luxury desert camp among the sweeping dunes of Erg Chebbi. On the way we stop to watch a breathtaking sunset from a high dune. Enjoy an unforgettable evening of Sahara culture — rhythmic drumming, storytelling, and the amazing starry night sky.
Day 2: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Valley
An early morning is highly recommended to watch a peaceful sunrise. After breakfast at your camp, you can return to Merzouga town by camel trek or comfortable 4×4.
Then set off on a scenic journey to Boumalne Dades, passing through Rissani, Erfoud, and the stunning Todra Gorges. On a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday you can visit Rissani’s traditional market, a window into southern Moroccan culture. Take a leisurely stroll along the Todra River and beneath the towering Todra Gorge in Tinghir.
We reach Boumalne Dades in the afternoon. Before your accommodation, enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley to a spot with breathtaking views of the rock formations known as the “monkey fingers.” Your evening is spent in a charming hotel in the heart of the Dades Valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley -> Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech
The final day of your tour begins with breakfast at your accommodation, then a scenic drive to Ait Ben Haddou through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate, passing many picturesque Berber villages.
In Ouarzazate you can explore the Atlas Studios, where film sets and decorations from numerous movies are preserved, or take photos from outside and carry on.
Just 15 kilometres from Ouarzazate lies the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, known for its appearances in Game of Thrones (as Yunkai) and in other iconic films such as Gladiator.
After visiting the Kasbah and a satisfying lunch, your journey continues to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka pass, at 2,260 metres above sea level, with breathtaking landscapes along the way. Your day concludes with arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
