Day 1: Casablanca — arrival and city tour
Your 9-day Moroccan adventure begins with your arrival in Casablanca, where our team warmly greets you. We start with a city tour, visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece and one of the largest mosques in the world. Explore the bustling streets, soak up the vibrant atmosphere, and enjoy a taste of local cuisine. In the evening, settle into your comfortable accommodation and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 2: Casablanca -> Rabat -> Chefchaouen
On day two, we travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Explore historical sites and architectural wonders, including the magnificent Hassan Tower and the charming Kasbah of the Udayas. We then continue to Chefchaouen, the “Blue City,” known for its picturesque blue-painted streets and buildings. Immerse yourself in the unique ambiance of this enchanting town and enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals.
Day 3: Full day to explore Chefchaouen
Today, you have a whole day to freely explore Chefchaouen, famous for its blue-painted streets. The picturesque blue-washed buildings create a captivating atmosphere. Wander the narrow streets and alleys of the old town, visit the lively markets, or simply relax at one of the many cafés or restaurants serving delicious Moroccan food. Bring your camera to capture the beautiful sights.
Day 4: Chefchaouen -> Volubilis -> Meknes -> Fes
After breakfast at your riad, the day starts with a lovely drive through charming Rif villages and the Moroccan countryside, with breathtaking views along the way. Our first destination is Volubilis, an ancient Roman city.
At Volubilis, explore the remains of this historic city and learn about its fascinating past — the ruins are known for well-preserved mosaics and impressive public buildings constructed around the 3rd century.
Next, we head to Meknes, once Morocco’s capital in the 17th century. After a satisfying lunch, we venture into the Medina, a walled old town home to the famous Bab el Mansour gate, with its intricate designs and exquisite carvings, and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
After a day of exploration, we make our way to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a beautiful riad.
Day 5: Guided full-day tour of Fes
Today, a full-day tour with a friendly local guide explores Fes, a city of fascinating history and lively culture, and a place of immense cultural and religious importance.
Begin at the magnificent golden gate of the Royal Palace, then walk into the narrow streets of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll visit notable landmarks such as Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries, with their stunning architecture and intricate detail.
Afterwards, make your way to the Jewish quarter (the Mellah) to delve into the history of the Jewish community in Fes, then ascend to an ancient fortress for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Medina and the whole city. As the day ends, return to your comfortable riad.
Day 6: Fes -> Ifrane -> Middle Atlas Mountains -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert
After a tasty breakfast at your riad, get ready for a desert adventure heading south towards Merzouga. Along the way, we take a quick break in the beautiful city of Ifrane to relax and take in scenic views.
Continuing on, we pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop by a cedar forest, where you can see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. We then stop at a restaurant for lunch before heading to the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm oasis.
In the afternoon, we reach the desert and start an authentic camel ride across the mesmerising dunes of Erg Chebbi, pausing to enjoy a stunning sunset from a high dune before reaching your luxury camp.
On arrival, you’re shown to your private tent with its own bathroom to relax and freshen up. Later, a delicious dinner offers a taste of local cuisine. Gather around a cosy bonfire under the starry sky while the camp staff entertain you with drumming and traditional Berber music — and you can learn to play the drums yourself.
Day 7: Full day to explore the Merzouga desert
Waking early is recommended to catch the stunning sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a tasty breakfast, decide whether to ride a camel or take a 4×4 to Merzouga.
Your day of adventure begins in the small town of Khamlia, where locals whose origins trace to southern Africa play a unique style of music called Gnawa — a wonderful chance to experience something different.
Next, we take an off-road drive to M’Fis, an abandoned village with galena mines (galena is a mineral once used to make mascara). Exploring it gives you a glimpse into its history and mining past.
After that, we visit a nomadic family living near the Erg Chebbi dunes, who have chosen a traditional lifestyle away from modern civilisation. Enjoy a cup of tea with them in their Berber tents and learn about their fascinating customs and traditions.
After a tasty lunch, we drive to your beautiful riad, where you can relax and swim in the pool. In the late afternoon, you can go quad biking or buggy driving to watch the sunset, or simply take a walk to the dunes for the sunset. Later, enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in your cosy riad.
Day 8: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Gorge
After a yummy breakfast at your riad, we head towards the beautiful Dades Gorge.
Along the way, explore interesting places like the traditional market in Rissani (on market days — Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). Take a leisurely walk through the captivating Todra Gorge, marvelling at the views of the Todra River.
Continuing towards the Dades Gorge, be amazed by the incredible rock formations resembling monkey fingers. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley, taking in the panoramic beauty of the gorges before reaching your hotel for a peaceful, restful overnight stay.
Day 9: Dades Gorge -> Ouarzazate -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech
On the last day, we drive to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa” and “Gateway to the Desert,” where you can optionally visit the Atlas Studios, Morocco’s largest film studio, to explore famous film sets and learn how movies are made.
Next, we continue to Ait Ben Haddou to explore its famous Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Take your time to appreciate its detailed architecture and beautiful decoration.
