Day 1: Casablanca -> Rabat
Welcome to Morocco! Your 8 days tour from Casablanca begins with a friendly meet-and-greet at Mohammed V International Airport. Your local guide accompanies you to the impressive Hassan II Mosque, where you’ll admire the intricate tilework, carved marble, and breathtaking ocean views. Its minaret is among the tallest in the world.
Afterwards, we head to Rabat, the capital, to explore historical sites such as the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas. The day ends at your Rabat accommodation to relax and recharge. If your flight arrives at night, we’ll take you straight to your Casablanca hotel for a restful night before the tour begins.
Day 2: Rabat -> Chefchaouen
After a tasty breakfast, our journey to Chefchaouen begins. This charming town in the Rif Mountains awaits after a scenic four-hour drive through rolling hills and small villages.
On arrival, check in at your hotel/riad, then explore. The city is famous for its blue-washed buildings and picturesque ambiance. Stroll the narrow streets and alleys of the Medina, visit the lively souks, or relax at a café or restaurant serving delightful Moroccan cuisine. Bring your camera to capture the beauty of this remarkable town.
Day 3: Chefchaouen -> Volubilis -> Meknes -> Fes
Begin with breakfast, then set off through scenic Rif villages and the Moroccan countryside before reaching Volubilis, a once-thriving Roman city. Explore the well-preserved ruins and its fascinating history, marvelling at the intricate mosaics and grand structures dating back to the 3rd century.
Next, we head to Meknes, a 17th-century city that once served as Morocco’s capital. After lunch, we explore the Medina and its famous Bab el Mansour gate, admiring the intricate designs and carvings, and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We then continue to Fes for a delightful night at a beautiful riad.
Day 4: Guided full-day tour of Fes
Set out on a captivating full-day tour of Fes with a local guide. Fes, an imperial city and the heart of Moroccan culture and religion, reveals its rich history and treasures.
Start at the Royal Palace gate, then navigate the enchanting labyrinth of the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries, each with captivating architecture and detailed designs.
Venture into the Jewish quarter (the Mellah) to learn about the history of Fes’s Jewish community, then finish at an ancient fortress with a panoramic view of the Medina before returning to your riad.
Day 5: Fes -> Ifrane -> Middle Atlas Mountains -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert
After breakfast at your riad, we head south towards Merzouga, stopping briefly in Ifrane to enjoy the scenery. We continue to a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas to see Barbary macaques, then have lunch at a restaurant along the way before reaching the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm oasis.
In the afternoon, we reach the desert and begin an authentic camel caravan across the dunes of Erg Chebbi, pausing to watch a golden sunset from a high dune before continuing to your luxury camp. On arrival, you’re shown to your private tent to relax and freshen up. After a delicious dinner, gather around a bonfire under the starry sky while the camp staff play drums and sing Berber music — and you can learn to play the drums too.
Day 6: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Gorge
Waking early is highly recommended to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, ride a camel or take a 4×4 to Merzouga town, where your driver is waiting for the next leg towards the Dades Gorge.
Along the way, explore places like the traditional market in Rissani (open Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday) and stroll through the picturesque Todra Gorge, taking in views of the Todra River. On the route to the Dades Gorge, marvel at the rock formations resembling monkey fingers, then drive through the Dades Valley for a panoramic view before reaching your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 7: Dades Gorge -> Ouarzazate -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech
