    Fes Desert Tour

Here’s the plan. Feel free to customise it to match your interests.

Day 1: Fes -> Ifrane -> Middle Atlas Mountains -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga

Your trip starts with a pick-up from your riad in Fes, then we travel to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Your first destination is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its cooler climate. After that, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping by a cedar forest to see some Barbary macaques.

Lunch is at a restaurant along the way. Then we travel along the Ziz Valley (an oasis full of palm trees), stopping at a panoramic viewpoint over the oasis.

We reach the desert in the afternoon, where your camels wait to carry you across the dunes to your luxury camp. You’ll watch the sunset from a high dune. On arrival, the staff show you to your private tent to relax and shower. After a delicious dinner, the team light a bonfire, so you can sit back and enjoy the view while the Berbers drum and sing.

Day 2: Merzouga -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech

We recommend waking early to watch a calm sunrise. After a tasty breakfast, we leave the camp by 4×4 for the town of Merzouga, then begin the long journey to Marrakech, with stops along the way.

We’ll stop in Ait Ben Haddou for a panoramic view of Morocco’s most famous Kasbah, which has featured in many films and series such as The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. UNESCO has protected the ancient village as a World Heritage Site since 1987.

After photos of this historic site, we cross the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, stopping for panoramic views. Your Fes to Marrakech desert trip 2 days ends with drop-off at your hotel/riad in Marrakech.
