    Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga

    Here’s the plan. Feel free to customise it to match your interests.

    Day 1: Casablanca -> Chefchaouen

    Begin your 5-day adventure with a warm welcome at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel by your friendly local guide.

    From there, we embark on an exciting journey to Chefchaouen, a beautiful town nestled in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco.

    On arrival, check in at your lovely hotel/riad and enjoy free time to explore the city and its famous blue-painted streets. Take a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets, visit the bustling markets, or relax at one of the charming cafés and restaurants serving delicious Moroccan food. At night, you’ll stay in a lovely riad/hotel to rest and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere — a perfect way to end an exciting day in Chefchaouen.

    Day 2: Chefchaouen -> Fes

    Enjoy a tasty breakfast at your hotel/riad to get ready for an amazing journey to Fes.

    On arrival, a knowledgeable local guide waits to show you the incredible things this medieval city has to offer. Walk through the historic streets, marvel at the fascinating history, and admire the beautiful architecture. You can have a delicious lunch in the lively Medina, experiencing the authentic flavours and smells of local food.

    After a day of exploring, relax at a lovely riad in the heart of the Fes Medina — a peaceful retreat amidst the vibrant city. Take some time to unwind and enjoy the charm of Fes as you settle in for the night.

    Day 3: Fes -> Ifrane -> Middle Atlas Mountains -> Ziz Valley -> Merzouga desert

    After breakfast at your riad in Fes, we set off on an incredible desert experience heading south towards Merzouga. Along the way, we make a quick stop in the charming city of Ifrane to soak in the picturesque surroundings.

    Continuing on, we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at a cedar forest, where you can observe Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. We then pause for a satisfying lunch at a restaurant en route.

    As we progress, we enter the captivating Ziz Valley, famous for its abundant palm oasis, before making our way to the desert. In the afternoon, we arrive and your authentic camel caravan begins across the mesmerising dunes of Erg Chebbi. During the trek, we pause to witness a breathtaking sunset from a high dune.

    Continuing on, we reach a luxury camp, where you’re shown to your private tent to relax and freshen up. Once evening falls, a delicious dinner offers a taste of local cuisine. Gather around a cosy bonfire under the starry sky, where the camp staff entertain you with lively drumming and enchanting Berber music — and you can learn to play the drums yourself.

    Day 4: Merzouga desert -> Rissani -> Todra Gorge -> Dades Gorge

    Waking early to witness a magnificent sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes is highly recommended. After a tasty breakfast, you can either ride a camel or take a 4×4 to Merzouga, where your driver/guide is ready for the next part of your tour to the Dades Gorge.

    Along the way, explore fascinating places such as the traditional market in Rissani (if you visit on a market day — Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), and enjoy a delightful stroll through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, admiring the views of the Todra River.

    Continuing towards the Dades Gorge, be amazed by the incredible rock formations resembling monkey fingers. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Dades Valley, taking in the panoramic beauty of the gorges before reaching your hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.

    Day 5: Dades Gorge -> Ouarzazate -> Ait Ben Haddou -> High Atlas Mountains -> Marrakech

    On the final day, we drive towards Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa” and “Gateway to the Desert,” where you can optionally visit the Atlas Studios, Morocco’s largest film studio, to explore famous film sets and learn about the filmmaking process.

    We then head to Ait Ben Haddou to visit its famous Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Take your time to marvel at its intricate architecture and exquisite decoration.

    After a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant, we continue across the High Atlas Mountains, soaking in the breathtaking landscape views. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech, marking the end of your 5 days Morocco itinerary.
